Renew Road Tax

Haven't Blog in awhile already, was busy with many things. Slowly but surely moving together with the flow of life.

I brought a new 2a Scooter somewhere in March 2019, the model is Yamaha Xmax300 (there is bike group for it also!). Anyways, the purchase was from Mah Pte Ltd under the recommendations from a friend who also purchased his Xmax with them. No comments on the service or after service, I just went down and made the necessary payments and that's all.

Well, it is almost 6 months since I owned the bike, and I had to do the renewal of road tax...kua kua kua...

Nowadays, everything also digital. I did not even receive any letter reminder which I usually get till I was browsing my SMS inbox (who even uses SMS nowadays?) and realized I had a message indicating there were 2 electronic letters form LTA!

I wonder how the seniors or less tech-savvy people are gonna react to this new paperless system. Since we are already in the digital era, I decided to renew my road tax online. No longer do I have to go down the office and show them the documents, even insurance can be purchased online.
You can visit this Link to check your vehicle road tax details, the expiry etc.

Next, go on ONEMOTORING and you can renew your road tax!
So easy!

Once the payments have been made, a email will be sent to you together with a PDF of your receipt.

Hope to update this space more often. I wonder.

BBDC Class 2 Journey Part 4 (The End)

Seemingly from the title of the post, most would have known the answer by now that it's either I pass or I have failed and simply given up. I had to take 2 compulsory revision practicals before I am able to make any booking. So I just randomly picking out any dates, but I gave myself a week's distance between each revisions.

It was a little depressing for me knowing that bumpy was the one that bump me off from passing my previous attempt at getting my license. So every single session I went, I spent most of the time repeating e-brake and bumpy. No matter how I tried, I just cannot meet the required timings. The posture and everything just wasn't correct for me.

The instructors were really patient and kind and kept encouraging me and pointing out where I can do better or where my mistakes are at. I had to thank instructor Eddy for going the extra mile by going through bumpy with me on a single bike to let me have a 'feel' on how bumpy course feels like. It's quite thrilling for me, imagine 2 grown adults standing on the bike! Felt like a stunt women performing :x But alas, it work!

On April 5th 2018, Thursday. I went to get myself tested again. I gotten tag number 12. Previous number I got was tag number 5. In total, there were 26 people. Just class 2 alone already have 16, the remaining are class 2a's. They number according to nationality, followed by the age. So if you are a foreigner, your number would be right at the front.

Interestingly, the BBDC instructor that oversee's that test that day was Shirley's husband. I was trying hard to not get noticed as I do not want anyone to know I was taking class 2. Oh yea, as we have 16 people taking class 2,  BBDC only have 14 bikes available for us. So the first 1 and 2 have to share with 15 and 16. Alternating with each other to warm up and test.

I can't really remembered much on how I did, but there were 2 immediate failures. Both were taking class 2 and are ladies. Class 2a everyone pass. Guess who is the lucky girl that day :p
It gives a difficult feeling inside me seeing the lady not being able to lift up the bike. Each time she is trying to lift the bike up, I'm also mentally wishing her the best. There was one point she almost did it, but she decided she can't do it anymore. The testers were nice by giving her time to breathe and try again and again. Until a point the tester said to her, "I give you one last chance, there are others who are taking the test as well". She tried. Staring at her defeated face, gives me a sense of dread, what if I can't? #FML.

Anyways....I pass with 18 points and zero Immediate Failures. I lost my result slip ._. But that's not the important point anyway.

Alright bye~

I no longer have to go back BBDC anymore!

BBDC Class 2 Journey Part 2

23rd November 2017, Thursday. Did my second practical, lesson 2.01. The main focus on 2.01 is to memorize the test route, figure 8, crank course, e-brake and bumpy course. Could it be that I was destined to be a wet rider? Because this was the 2nd lesson I went and got drench by sudden downpour. I wasn’t confident enough for figure 8 as I suck at doing cornering but my timing was 9 sec. Class 2 have to complete figure 8 within 11 seconds. Nothing is perfect, when exiting I tends to do a wide turning. At e-brake, I fish-tailed ._. Oh wells, thankfully I did not fall. As for bumpy, class 2 requires more than 8 seconds. I only managed to maintain at 7.9 seconds. So yup, lesson 2.01 had to be repeated again.

BBDC Class 2 Journey Part 1

Decided to drag my lazy ass out on a Sunday and enroll myself into BBDC for my class 2 on 29th October. This enables me to ride any motorcycle 400cc and above. There are some requirements which I copied form BBDC's website.

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS
 · Physically and mentally fit.
· Possess a Class 2A Qualified Driving Licence for at least one year.
· Able to read at a distance of 25 meters and does not suffer from color-blindness.
· Must not accumulate more than 12 demerit points under Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS). · Must not have any Qualified Driving Licence/Provisional Driving Licence under revocation, disqualification or suspension.
· Enroll in person.

Unlike 2B or 2A, I no longer require to attend anymore theory lessons. More of like a wham bam whack situation whereby I paid for my registration, depositing money into my account and I can start my practical lessons the next available slots.

So!
First lesson of practical 1.01 is done on 30th October, which is yesterday of this post I'm currently typing :p
Took session 7 which is from 7.20pm to 9pm, but didn't fully utilize the timings as there was a thunderstorm last night, huge pouring rain is not a problem. The lighting was.

2A and 2's practical lessons are done together as the test routes are the same. In total there were 5 students including me but all the others are taking 2A except me, is it a blessing or not? Since I can practice lifting the Honda Nighthawk all by myself, not. Once it's safe to proceed, instructor took us out to the circuit to familiarize the bikes as there is a power difference to the bikes we were used to, surprisingly I took it quite well! Yippy!

1.01 lessons are more on learning the test route and doing the plank and pylon slalom. Instructors want to see how well we can handle our bikes. Oh, remember I mention about lifting the dummy bike? In the end of the lesson after parking our bikes, instructor ask me to practice. Did it once without any assistance :x

Was told to book 2.01 TEEHEE!

Have not booked any session yet, as I'm still trying to rush my assignments which is going to be due soon. Wish I could stop being so lazy...
Bye!

I have been going over to JB for staycation every Saturday consistently. Maybe my future trips I will start to document it again, so I could share with you guys where the fun and interesting places to go are. 86 more days to go for my class 2. Time fly by so quickly!!! Gosh!

Thanks for the comments left on my Riding Journey, it left a positive impact on me to know that there are actually people reading this space of mine and following through my personal achievements and milestones. Meanwhile I will try to answer as many question as possible regarding riding, since my friend have decided to enroll in BBDC for 2B. Maybe I could document her journey as well?

Mini Road Trip

Picture first, draft post later :p
Okay, I'm back to update this post. By now I have mostly forgotten quite a few details. Anyways, my plan was to solo ride up all the way up North to Kuala Lumpur. Having been to Cameron Highlands and Genting, I have never been to the capital of Malaysia which doesn't make much sense to me HAHA!
Since I don't have GPS or Data, I relied on looking at this screenshot for reference on which exit to take and such as NSHW is quite straight forward...literally :p
I'm quite blessed as this 2 beautiful ladies decided to join my impromptu trip as they are worried for me. Met the girls at Bird Park @ 5.30am and we moved off at 6am as we were waiting for my another riding friend who overslept and woke up at 8+am, moved off without waiting for him.
We skipped Machap and headed straight to Pagoh for refueling, since now I have a bigger tank space I no longer need to stop at every single RNR but the moment I need to signal left and turn into the minor road, I can no longer feel my fingers T^T Imagine trying to constantly maintain 110km/h to 120km/h and sometimes to speed up to overtake buses and lorries...I know my speed wasn't considered fast enough when others could go 299 and such..oh well but it's a personal achievement for myself.
We reached Pagoh at around 8+am and Pang has data, so my friend who was overslept told us he is coming over now, inside my heart I'm thinking WTF...Informed him that we will be going Ayer Keroh for our breakfast + lunch and wait for him...It took us another 30-40 mins to reach Ayer Keroh.
Back at the place with amazing view of NSHW, brings back memories heehee!
Go Ayer Keroh RNR must go for their A&W..if not what else...
By then my face quite shag already when it's only 11+am cause the sun has risen and it's blazing hot! Can't deal with sun! KC has to attend her sister's birthday and Pang accompanied her back to SG as my friend has arrive to continue the journey. But then the stupid me don't know how to go KL T^T

Decided to pop by A's kumpung since I'm already there anyways...But it was a hit or miss as I don't have the address, all based on my previous memories that I went the other time. Turns out I'm right on route and arrived safely. Yay!
Back to simple life again, taking a short detox from crazy city life.
Since I'm crashing on someone's place, it's only best that I offered to do grocery shopping for them as a sort of repayment for their hospitality after all we were strangers :x
This is how a typical store for the locals to buy their groceries, something like a supermakert but downscale kind. At the back ,a butcher will cut the meat. The guy who chop the chicken up reminds me of old Stephen Chow movie, he took a apron, wear it and and cigarette on his lips while chopping.
Singapore Scooter doing delivery in Melaka :D
And..that's how I waste my day away...
A's cousin Lydia (if I spelt correctly) with the family cat.
His uncle was giving us a tour on his plantation of fruits.
His auntie kindly lend me one of her sarong to change after shower as I didn't bring extra clothes as it was supposed to be a day trip only.
In the evening I was invited to go out with them for another shopping trip for food haha..
All good times have to end, we woke up at 6am had a mini breakfast and left around 7+am.
Chiong all the way to Pagoh for refueling...
Killed a few insect on the highways splapping on my visor...
In total I traveled 509km...Woah..Can't wait to do it again!

New Scooter!

And so I have finally brought another motorcycle...
*deng deng deng*
A Piaggio Beverly 400!

Guess it's not much of a surprise to anyone who knew me.  I felt it's a challenge for me as I have to take up a 26 months loan to repay the bike but no pain no gain right?  Still have 6 more years to go, I wonder where and how far I can go. Right beside it is a Yamaha Fino(my previous ride), body frame looks almost similar...I miss you Sebastian T^T

I'm not sure how well or how good I can handle this new baby, ever since my accident my way of riding has changed, no longer am i enjoying the thrill of the speed and every corners and turns got me so paranoid and frighten. Like a person who was addicted to drugs I kept going back to ride despite trying to withdraw myself away....After I sold my Fino, Mr A lent me his baby which was a Pulsar Dtsi 200. Damn reliable bike, unfortunately I was under performing.

In the last 2 months I was constantly encourage to go out riding. Yes I did,  at the same time I have also lost count on the times that I just have to stop somewhere on the road and cried myself silly because I felt I wasn't good enough. No matter how hard i tried to rev that throttle I still couldn't step out of that zone, to go faster than I was before.
I just can't.

I know this was suppose to be a happy post for me to commemorate my new ride, but it is also another reminder that I myself had a fear to overcome.

So let's see how far I can go this time.

BBDC Class 2A Journey Part 4 (The End)

I'm getting busier each day and I don't seems to have the luxury to sit down and blog any more...Boohoo T^T. But I must end this post...

Lesson 1.01 - 2 times.
Lesson 2.01 - 4 times
Lesson 3.01 - 1 time.
Traffic Police Test - 2 times.

I attended theory on the 5th Aug and gotten my licence on 16th Sep. So overall it took me around 1 and a half month to get my licence. By right should be a month only as I failed my first TP test on the 6th Sep with 36 points!!!

Felt so disappointed and angry at the same time as I failed not from blind spot checking but from wobbling ._. Move off wobble, change lane wobble, stop also wobble…WTF! During the first test I wanted to play safe so I just stay within gear 2 and clear my circuit. On my 2nd try, I just whack till gear 4. This can be subjective, you can don’t take my words from it, but after hearing stories from others and my own experience, the testers don’t really care on our checking but more of how confidant you can handle the machine as it’s a bigger CC.

One more year to go!

BBDC Class 2A Journey Part 1 or 3?

I know I blog about going for my class 2A at SSDC but fate works in a funny way. Nah, actually no. Because the waiting time for lessons at SSDC is horrendous. 2 weeks for 1 lesson? OMG! My friends have already gotten their licence and I'm still having lessons T^T And since I had a minor accident, everything have to go slowly for me. I took around 3 weeks to rest and suck it up and register at BBDC. I just don't want to wait any longer!

Lesson 1.01 - 2 times.
Lesson 2.01 - 3 times and counting.

The main reason why I kept failing lesson 2 was because my timing for figure 8 was horrible. Inside my heart I'm still having trauma and worry about falling. Plus my left knee is still in constant pain. I don't know why I want to torture myself like this. Sigh.

Self Skidded

Before I go on about what happen, just want to provide some warning first as there might be come photos that can be quite uncomfortable for some. Please skip this post if you have problems looking at bloods and open flesh wounds.

In my time of riding since learning till now I have never fallen from my bike before. Unfortunately my luck seems to ran out and on 19th July, Tuesday Morning I've lost control of my scooter and self skidded on AYE before Lower Delta exit. Thankfully the vehicle behind kept a safe distance and didn't run me over and a nice couple who came and help me. Everything happen so fast, till now I couldn't explain what happen. I did not jam my brakes, but I remember gently pressing them like I usually does and the next thing I know I'm sliding on the ground already.

Again, I must stress to all riders please please wear at least long pants and covered shoes while riding. I have seen people riding with short pants and slippers, and I will pray for them that nothing happen. I'm glad that on the day of accident I'm wearing jeans and covered shoes, if not the extent of my injuries would be greater.

Another important thing is, please get a Personal Accident Insurance. You never know when and where it will happen. My scooter I only brought first party, fire and theft only, so I have to fork out for my own damages...

Anyway...Please don't scroll down any further.

I was sent to SGH via ambulance as my knees had a really deep cut which is around 4 cm deep. I was given 2 options on how to treat my wound. 1 was to go through general anesthesia to sew up my wound as the cut is so deep that the doctors worry that if they give me local anesthesia I might not be able to take it. I don't know whether did I go bonkers or what because inside my head all I can think of is that I have an upcoming exam on Saturday, I can't afford to stay in.

Told the doctor to go ahead with local anesthesia, if I can't take it then I will go with the GA.
Don't ask me why, I also don't know why I have the mood to keep taking photos and updating others on my progress. I can only say that I can feel every single stitches :(

I was discharge at around 5pm but I have to rush down to Traffic Police headquarters to make a police report and "redeem" my scooter. Unfortunately during my accident, the traffic police officer came very quickly and tow my scooter back.

Do you know, when you self skidded on the road is an offence?
$200 of fines and 8 demerit points!!!!
T^T
I really want to thank Steve and Violet for taking care of me throughout the whole day, some more it was Steve's birthday. Sorry for ruining it :x

So after taking my statements and stuff, I was told most likely I would be given a warning. Still waiting for my letter. Pray hard that nothing come!
The whole time my left leg was swollen and I have a great difficulty in walking. Lucky the swelling went down in time. Phew.
Do you know, among many things I'm very scared of removing stitches :(
Finally it's gone!

Would I go back riding again?
Definitely!

SSDC Class 2A Journey Part 2

Had my first practical lesson yesterday, did plank, pylon slalom, bumpy course, e-brake and slope. I realized compared to BBDC, the available slots for lessons is quite limited. I had to wait like a week for the next available lessons. Oh well, I can't complain much. The comfort of practicing under shelter and not exposed to the elements.
Looking at the motorcycles really brings back a lot of feelings. Blue is for 2B, Black is 2A and Yellow is for class 2. So far the schools have replaced the Super Four to Cb400F
Even though the new CB400f is lighter than the old Super four, I find it hard to maneuver the motorcycle. Plus from four cylinder engine downgrade to two cylinder...

Haiya, cannot complain. The engine wasn't as hot as before.

Anyways, I got to repeat my lessons as I can't turn my bike properly, meaning I failed my pylon slalom part T^T

A new course that was tested is the Bumpy course, thankfully I have no problems with it. Maybe it's because when I was younger I always ride bicycle while standing up? :p I saw people falling down and I kind of get frighten by it. Lucky and thanking god that nothing happen to me.

Plank had to maintain at least 8 seconds, pylon slalom must clear within 6 seconds, bumpy is maintain at least 5 seconds....

Repeating my lesson 1 again next week on the 21st.
Hopefully I can make it!

SSDC Class 2A Journey Part 1

Time really flies when you are busy, it has been a year of riding my little cute Fino and it's time for me to upgrade to a bigger motorcycle. I was contemplating between BBDC and SSDC but I have decided to enroll for my 2A at SSDC again since i'm more familiar with the way lessons were conducted there.
Here's what I paid for during the enrollment.
Funny thing is that they put a remark "Ex-graduate", but the price you pay is still the same. So i'm just wondering why the hassle?
No theory books or anything, just a mini training book for recording purposes.
Being a "kan-chiong spider" I attended the theory the very next day I enrolled. Too bad the next available practical I can attended is next Sunday. Oh well, at least I cleared 1 thing.

Quite excited for it!

Bike Inspection, Renew Road Tax

Went to renew my road tax for Sebastian on Wednesday at Bukit Batok Vicom.
Don't ask me why I didn't go STA, I also don't know why :p

In order to renew road tax, one have to bring their vehicle for inspections.
What a waste of money and time :x

Maybe this can be a step by step guide to others who need to renew their road tax.
First step, park your bike and "queue" behind other bikes.
Then go locate this booth and make payments. Remember to bring your relevant documents along.
They accept Cash and Nets payment. Just a piece of advise, pay cash.
It cost $18.19 if pay by Nets or $18.15 if paid by cash.
I save $0.04 cents! #CHEAPO
While waiting I just loiter around and read the guidelines..
Waiting...
Finally Sebastian's turn!
.
.
.
And Sebastian pass his inspections!
I was given a cert to certify my bike has met all requirements and now I just have to look for this booth and make payments for my road tax.

You can choose to renew for 6 months or a year but due to my insurance expiring in 6 months time, I can only renew 6 months for $13. Oh well, guess I have to make a trip down again next year July (:
